[Conference presentation] The 5th Asian Forum for the Next Generation of the Social Sciences of Sport

From the Tourism & Sports Unit, Dr. Tom Hinch (University of Alberta) and Dr. Eiji Ito (Wakayama University) attended the 5th Asian Forum for the Next Generation of the Social Sciences of Sport at Mokpo National University, South Korea (February 16th - 18th, 2016).
Dr. Hinch presented "The industry and culture of sport tourism: The roles and challenges for researchers" for a keynote lecture, and Dr. Ito presented his research "Cultural commonalities in constraints to leisure-time physical activity between Japanese and Euro-Canadians." During the forum, they discussed research trends in Asia and developed relationships with Korean, Chinese, and Japanese researchers.

Also, Dr. Ito's seminar students won the "2016 Best Student Paper Award" by presenting their poster entitled "The intentions of volunteering at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and past volunteer experiences: The roles of different types of volunteer activities."
