[Conference presentation] Presented papers at the 22nd APTA Annual Conference in Beijing, China

Dr. Kaede Sano and Dr. Hayato Nagai, both research members of the Center for Tourism Research, Wakayama University attended the 22nd Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA) Annual Conference.

APTA is an internationally acknowledged association in the field of tourism and hospitality in the Asia-Pacific region and a SSCI listed journal Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research is published by this association.
This year the annual conference was hosted by Beijing International Studies University in China between 1st and 4th June. There were about 200 academics from Asia and other part of the world attended this year’s conference.

At the conference, Dr. Sano presented a paper titled “Why do they use social media to organize vacation trip? Explore the effect of attitude, benefit and incentive on tourists’ intention of using social media” and Dr. Nagai presented a paper which Dr. Nagai co-authored with Dr. Pierre Benckendorff and Dr. Aaron Tkaczynski from the University of Queensland titled “Making local friends during a working holiday experience in Australia” . Both presentations received many questions and generated active discussion during the Q&A sessions.
