[Conference presentation] Research paper presented at the International Conference of Multidisciplinary Approaches on UN Sustainable Development Goals

CTR researcher, Dr. Amnaj Khaokhrueamuang presented a research paper on The Agricultural Heritage Systems from green tourism perspective at The International Conference of Multidisciplinary Approaches on UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) in Bangkok, Thailand on 28th and 29th December, 2016.
The paper entitled ‘The Agricultural Heritage Systems of Orchard Based on the Concept of Satoyama and Sufficiency Economy: Green Tourism Perspectives for Japan and Thailand’ was presented in the Hospitality and Tourism Management session.

In this study, analysis was made on the fruit industry management and ‘green tourism’ development comparatively on the two cases from Japan and Thailand based on Satoyama system and Sufficiency Economy Agriculture (SEA) respectively. Referring also to the Globally Important Agriculture Heritage System (GIAHS), discussion was made on active utilization of these resources in tourism while ensuring the conservation of the rural environment and its culture.

Conference Information
The International Conference of Multidisciplinary Approaches on UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) was co-hosted by Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University, the Interdisciplinary Network of the Royal Society of Thailand, Office of the Higher Education Commission, Prince of Songkla University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Ministry of Public Health, and Mahidol University, Thailand. The aim of UNSDGs is to provide a forum for academics from various educational fields with cross-disciplinary interests to network, share knowledge and engage in dialogue around the theme of fostering innovation and excellence in multidisciplinary approaches to UN sustainable development goals to end poverty, fight inequality and justice, and tackle climate change by 2030.
