[Conference presentation] Presented papers at the Japan Geoscience Union - American Geophysical Union (JpGU-AGU) Joint Meeting

The Japan Geoscience Union (JpGU) annual meeting is the largest international earth science conference in Japan, and as a joint meeting between the JpGU and American Geophysical Union (AGU) this year, the event attracted 5,562 presentations and over 8,000 people attended the academic conference held between 20th and 25th May, 2017 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan.
Dr. Abhik Chakraborty from Center for Tourism Research (CTR) at Wakayama University presented research papers on geoconservation and tourism, the role of long-term ecological research (LTER) in understanding of dynamic geomorphic systems and the need for appropriate visitor planning for active geomorphological sites and the contours of a new earth-science based understanding of socioecological systems, particularly in the mountain landscapes.
