(From Ms. Shimakawa)
I am in charge of searching for regional development through sport tourism, especially walking and hiking in the section of special advisor for Tourism, Sport and Mega events at the UNWTO headquarters. In addition, I will help to organize and prepare materials for the conference.
In the office, the international staff and interns with various backgrounds are working. At the beginning, I felt nervous a bit. However, I can easily adopt thank to the friendly atmosphere and welcome party.
There are many things I have not been sure about my tasks and the organization itself. However, I feel grateful that I can learn and help the UNWTO publications which I have learned through lectures and the UNWTO conference which I joined as volunteer staff last year. Through this internship, I would like to learn how the UNWTO leads world tourism and consider how tourism should be developed and I can contribute to tourism in the future.
