Project summary
With the world population becoming more stable, well-being will become an important keyword next to the SDGs. Feeling happy through walking has been discussed in a variety of fields, including welfare, medicine, and health. It has been pointed out that taking a walk in the morning activates serotonin nerves, which helps relieve stress and relieve brain fatigue. In order to systematically organize and understand the development of walking tourism in Japan, we will conduct research to clarify the characteristics of each by comparing hilly and mountainous areas with urban areas. First, we will conduct questionnaire surveys of event participants at Kyushu Olle. We will also conduct interviews with the Jeju Olle organization, which developed the original Olle. Second, in urban areas, we will interview government officials about the current status of walkable area development and conduct site visits. Third, we compare the survey results with each other and extract the respective characteristics of hilly and mountainous areas and urban areas. We aim to present the results at academic conferences and publish in academic journals. Based on the activities and results of this project. we plan to apply for larger research grants.
